B. A. Performing Arts (Fort Valley State)

Davion Chapple brings HBCU energy and elite-level discipline to the Rudimental Control team. A former snare drummer for Fort Valley State University (2020–2025), Davion is known for his clean execution, consistency, and strong presence behind the drum.

As a percussion instructor and freelance artist, he’s passionate about building the next wave of drummers while representing the culture at a high level. Davion is also doing a remarkable job building a strong social media following, extending his impact and visibility across the drumming community.

Kevin D. Lee

Bachelor of Music Education (Texas Southern University)

Kevin brings a powerful combination of classroom experience, performance background, and innovative thinking to the Rudimental Control Team. As a percussion instructor with over a decade in music education, he offers a structured, fundamentals-first approach that aligns with the brand’s commitment to precision and consistency.

Through his work with DRUMISTRY, he adds a creative layer to rudimental development—helping players not only learn, but understand and apply what they play.He has built a strong online following—educating drummers with creative concepts while showcasing his collection of Rudimental Control pads and drumsticks.

Kevin’s performance background includes marching cymbals with the Texas Southern University Ocean of Soul from 2004 to 2007, further grounding his teaching in real-world experience and high-performance standards.

Dr. Ben Andrew

Doctor of Education (Grand Canyon University)

Dr. Ben Andrew is an award-winning educator, mentor, community leader, and passionate percussion enthusiast from New Orleans. His drumming journey began at age 12 and led him to serve as Snare Section Leader at John F. Kennedy High School (K Phi Funk) and later with the prestigious New Orleans All-Star Band.

Known online as DrBen504, Dr. Ben has conducted numerous snare drum clinics and continues to inspire young musicians through mentorship, education, and leadership. His commitment to developing the next generation of percussionists has made him a respected voice in both the marching arts and academic communities.

A proud 10-year U.S. Navy veteran, Dr. Ben holds a Doctor of Education from Grand Canyon University and serves as a professor across multiple institutions. Through his dedication to service, education, and percussion, he continues to make a lasting impact both on and off the drumline.

Isaiah Martin

Pursuing Music Education (Alabama State University)

Isaiah currently marches snare drum at Alabama State University and is set to serve as Head Section Leader for the 2026–2027 season. Passionate about music education, leadership, and community service, he is committed to inspiring and mentoring the next generation of musicians.

saiah began sharing his drumming journey on social media in the 9th grade, initially using it as a personal practice tracker to document his growth. Through consistency, dedication, and skill development, his content quickly gained attention and built a growing audience. What started as a personal journal evolved into a platform focused on education, rudimental creativity, drum covers, and advice for aspiring percussionists.

Today, Isaiah continues to impact the drumming community through his online presence and leadership. He also manages a YouTube channel, @zayhrd, and a TikTok page, @snarevids_, where he shares Alabama State University drumline content and highlights from other ensembles. His passion for teaching, leadership, and excellence embodies the values of Rudimental Control.

Bryon Russell

B.S Criminal Justice (Bethune-Cookman University)

Bryon K. Russell is a dedicated percussionist, educator, and advocate for the marching arts. Born and raised in Columbus, Georgia, he later moved to Daytona Beach, Florida, to attend Bethune-Cookman University. From 2012 to 2017, Bryon was a proud member of the university’s renowned marching band, gaining invaluable performance experience and graduating in the spring of 2017.

Today, Bryon serves as the Percussion Instructor for Faith’s Place Center for Arts and Education, where he is passionate about mentoring and developing the next generation of musicians. His commitment to education extends beyond the classroom as he works to inspire young performers through leadership, discipline, and musical excellence.

In addition to teaching, Bryon is the host of the Drumlounge Podcast, a platform dedicated to conversations surrounding percussion, culture, and the marching arts community. Through his work as an educator, mentor, and media personality, Bryon continues to make a meaningful impact on the world of rhythm, music education, and the marching arts.
